Q: How do I Qualify?
A: To qualify for a Fidelity One credit account, you must own a car with a wholesale value of at least $3,000 or more, have a steady, stable source of income, and be able to afford the monthly payments on your account. If your vehicle qualifies and we determine that you have the financial means to make the monthly payments on time, we should be able to approve your request for credit.
Q: Do I need to have good credit to be approved?
A: No. Your credit history is just one of many factors that we consider. Bankruptcy and other forms of bad credit do not automatically disqualify you from obtaining credit with us. If you have a recent history of good credit habits and we feel that you have sufficient income to make the monthly payment on time, you have an excellent chance of being approved.
Q: How do you determine my credit limit?
A: The minimum amount of credit we issue is $500. The maximum credit limit you may be eligible for is based upon the wholesale value of your vehicle. We will also consider your credit history, income, current debt, and your ability to pay.
Q: Will the car stay in my name, or do I have to sign it over to you?
A: The car will stay in your name. You do not have to sell or sign the car over to us, because we simply add our name to the title as lienholder, just as any other bank or finance company will do when making an auto loan. Since we do not transfer ownership of the car into our name, you will continue to be the registered owner of the vehicle.
Q: What are the terms and fees for using the Credit Card or Line of Credit?
A: After your Credit Application is approved, one of our credit experts will contact you to review the rates, fees, and terms of your account. Additionally, a Credit Agreement containing a complete list of the rates, fees, terms, and disclosures applicable to your account will be made available to you electronically once you submit your credit application, and mailed to you once your account is open.
Q: I am concerned about the personal information I give you, will this information be kept safe and confidential?
A: Yes, it will. We go to great lengths to secure your personal information on our web site and in our database, and take a number of precautions to protect access to them from unauthorized users. Please see our policies on Privacy and Security for more information.
Q: How will I know when my Credit Application is approved?
A: Once you complete and submit the Credit Application, a Fidelity One credit expert will notify you by phone or email usually within one hour during normal business hours.
Q: Once I am approved, when can I start using my credit line?
A: After you receive approval you will be asked to provide a few items to help us. As soon as you e-mail, fax, or overnight this information to us, we can open your Fidelity One credit account and, upon your request, send a cash advance to anyone you choose.
